Meet the Muktinath Nuns

The Muktinath nuns are born in a small village at 4,000 metres in the Himalayas in Nepal. Because of the harsh weather conditions, they move to Kathmandu at a young age to receive education.
Older nuns remain in Muktinath, where they care for the sacred pilgrimage site welcoming up to 2,000 visitors each day.
Support here focuses on education, daily life, and well-being — while staying close to what the girls need as they grow. Alongside the essentials, there is space for fun, building confidence, and exploring who they are.

What we do for the girls

How to be part of it

Feeling Moved to Support?

You’re welcome to offer warmth in your own way.

Support Daily Life & Growth

Maybe you feel drawn to support what is needed day to day — healthy food, warm clothing, books, or daily needs. You can contribute in a way that fits you. These small supports are often that makes everything else possible.

Help Make Dreams Come True

Sometimes you hear a wish that touches your heart. Something simple. Something meaningful. If you feel moved to help bring one of these to life, you’re welcome to reach out.

Offer Your Time & Presence

You might feel like showing up in a more hands-on way as a volunteer. To share your time, your energy, or something you love doing – in your own style, at your own rhythm. Your presence can open something real and lasting.

Spread it Forward

Support can also travel through people. By sharing this story, speaking about it, or passing a small piece of our collection on to someone else. Sometimes that’s how warmth grows – quietly, from heart to heart.

Frequently Asked Questions?

It didn’t start as a plan. Over time, I found myself connecting with people and places in a very natural way — through visits, conversations, and simply spending time together. At some point, it became clear that I wanted to stay connected, and find ways to support where it felt meaningful.

Give for Growth grew from there. Not as a project, but as something that lives alongside my work and my life. A way to offer time, care, and attention — and to invite others to be part of that, if it speaks to them.

They are not chosen in a strategic way. They emerge through real contact — meeting people, spending time together, and building trust over time. What matters most is that there is a genuine connection, and that the support fits with what is already there locally.

I don’t arrive with a plan. I listen, observe, and stay open to what feels needed — together with the people on the ground.

By staying close. I’m personally connected to the places we support, and in regular contact with the people involved. There are no layers or large structures in between. What is given, flows directly into daily life — into things that can be seen and felt. It’s simple and transparent, and grounded in trust built over time.

Sometimes that is very practical — education materials, clothing, food, improvements in living conditions. Sometimes it supports something smaller, but just as meaningful in daily life. I don’t work with fixed budgets or rigid plans. Instead, I stay responsive to what is happening — so support remains relevant and grounded. Updates are shared along the way, so you can follow how things take shape.

I share updates and small stories along the way — through the website and occasional communication. Not everything is documented, but you will get a real sense of what is happening. If you feel more closely connected and want deeper insight, you’re always welcome to reach out directly.

There isn’t one best way. Some people feel drawn to contribute financially. Others offer time, skills, or connections. Some simply share the work with others. What matters most is that it feels natural to you.

This space isn’t about doing something “the right way” — but about responding to what you feel, in a way that is honest and sustainable for you.
